August 5, Fineko/abc.az. U.S. Democratic Senator Ron Wyden has urged federal regulators to investigate top Wall Street banks over their handling of accounts tied to Jeffrey Epstein. A four-year Senate investigation revealed potential evidence that the banks failed to report suspicious transactions in a timely manner, likely violating federal anti-money laundering laws.

The report names Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, and JPMorgan Chase:

  • Bank of America: Allegedly failed to properly screen and report $170 million in payments made to Epstein.

  • Deutsche Bank: Delayed reporting over $250 million in suspicious transfers tied to Epstein, including payouts to women in Russia and Eastern Europe.

  • JPMorgan Chase: Allegedly delayed reporting over $1 billion in suspicious transfers to the Treasury, including payments to women in Russia and Belarus.

JPMorgan strongly denied the allegations, stating it began flagging suspicious activity to authorities as early as 2002. Bank of America and Deutsche Bank stated that they take legal obligations seriously and continue to cooperate with oversight authorities.
