July 31, Fineko/abc.az. Construction of international railway China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan continues on all sections of the route. The project is intended to become one of the key transport arteries of Eurasia and significantly reduce the delivery time of goods between the East and the West.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $4.7 bn.
The main technical parameters are as follows:
• Speed: The maximum speed of passenger trains will be up to 120 km/h, and the maximum speed of freight trains - up to 90 km/h.
• Route: The railway will run from Kashgar to Torugart, Arpa, Makmal, Jalal-Abad, and Andijan.
• Infrastructure: The project includes construction of a single-track railway with the possibility of subsequent electrification.
The new railway will significantly enhance the transit potential of Central Asia and provide the shortest land route between China and the region.
