August 4, Fineko/abc.az. Japanese automaker Nissan Motor posted a net profit of 3.76 billion yen ($24 million) for the April–June 2026 quarter, rebounding from a severe net loss of 115.7 billion yen recorded in the same period last year.
The Yokohama-based company also generated an operating profit of 77.8 billion yen ($493.4 million), reversing an operating loss of 79.1 billion yen from a year earlier. Vehicle sales revenue rose 9.5% to 2.96 trillion yen ($18.8 billion), even as global sales volume dipped slightly by 0.9% to 701,000 units.
Outlook & Cost Improvements:
Full-Year Target: Nissan reaffirmed its full-year net profit target of 20 billion yen for the 2026 fiscal year ending March 2027.
Global Sales Volume: The company projects selling 3.15 million vehicles globally over the fiscal year, accounting for slowing demand in China.
Cost Savings: CEO Ivan Espinosa highlighted that aggressive restructuring measures generated 60 billion yen in fixed and variable cost savings during the quarter.
