July 31, Fineko/abc.az. Turkish holding TAV Airports has agreed to purchase the remaining 15% stake of Almaty International Airport from the Kazakhstan Infrastructure Fund (managed by VPE Capital with participation of Qazaqstan Investment Corporation) for $133 million. After completion of the transaction, TAV Airports is going to become the sole owner of the airport (100%).

The company noted that the airport continues demonstrating stable operational performance and strengthens its strategic importance as one of the key aviation hubs in Central Asia.

The airport plans to gradually increase passenger fares by the end of the year, which should significantly compensate for decrease in earnings due to reduced sales of aviation fuel.
