UBS Launches New $3 Billion Share Buyback Program Following Strong Q2 Earnings

21:44 - 29.07.2026

July 29, Fineko/abc.az. UBS Group AG has unveiled a new $3 billion share repurchase program running through mid-2027, aimed at offering investors greater visibility on capital returns amid ongoing debate over Swiss capital regulations.

Following the completion of a prior $3 billion buyback program this month, the Zurich-based lender plans to repurchase at least $1 billion worth of its own shares over the next three months.

For the second quarter, Switzerland's largest bank reported a net profit of $2.8 billion, topping Wall Street estimates of $2.39 billion. The robust performance was propelled by strong trading volumes across investment banking and higher-than-expected net asset inflows in its global wealth management unit. UBS noted that sustained profitability is helping offset market concerns surrounding stricter Swiss capital rules.
