July 27, Fineko/abc.az. Bernard Arnault, the chairman of luxury conglomerate LVMH, has addressed rumors of internal family friction and succession disputes. The 77-year-old billionaire issued an open letter via LVMH's official X account following a six-part investigative series published by French newspaper Le Monde.
In a sarcastic response, Arnault remarked that those betting on a family division to sell newspapers "will be waiting a long time." The Le Monde reports focused on Arnault's political and media influence, as well as alleged rivalries among his five children. The coverage drew additional public scrutiny due to the fact that billionaire Xavier Niel, partner to Arnault's daughter Delphine, is a key shareholder in Le Monde.
All five of Arnault's children hold prominent roles within LVMH, which controls fashion houses such as Christian Dior, Loro Piana, and Hennessy. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Arnault's net worth stands at approximately $154 billion, ranking him among the top ten wealthiest individuals globally.
