Mark Zuckerberg: U.S. shouldn't ban chinese AI models

July 29, Fineko/abc.az. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in an interview with the Financial Times that a ban on Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) models by the U.S. would not be an effective solution in the technology race.

Zuckerberg warned against the use of regulatory mechanisms by US AI companies to limit competition in the domestic market, noting the risk of "regulatory capture" by major industry players.

The Meta CEO emphasized that instead of imposing bans, American companies should systematically address the bottlenecks and barriers that hinder their development. He also noted that restricting access to the most advanced AI tools due to cybersecurity concerns is a flawed approach, as these technologies themselves help identify and address vulnerabilities.
