August 5, Fineko/abc.az. The Eurozone Composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 52 points in July, reaching its highest level in eight months. Published by S&P Global, the figure outpaced June’s reading of 50 points and beat market expectations of 51.9 points.
In parallel, the Eurozone Services PMI expanded from 49.4 in June to 51.7 points in July, marking a 5-month high and exceeding the forecasted 51.6 points.
The stronger-than-expected data indicates that output and new orders increased across the Eurozone as inflationary pressures slowed. A PMI reading above 50 signals expansion in the sector, while a value below 50 indicates contraction.
