July 27, Fineko/abc.az. Moody's has reaffirmed State Oil Company of Azerbaijan 's(SOCAR) Baa3 long-term issuer rating with a stable outlook, confirming the company's investment-grade credit profile maintained since its initial upgrade last year.
SOCAR informs that the decision provides further evidence of SOCAR's financial resilience, solid credit profile and strong standing as a reliable borrower in international capital markets. It also reflects international recognition of the company's long-term financial discipline, prudent financial policy and the measures implemented to support sustainable development.
In its assessment, Moody's highlighted SOCAR's strategic role in Azerbaijan's economy and energy sector, its integrated business model, sound financial performance and strong credit metrics as the key factors supporting the rating.
The decision was taken against a backdrop of continued uncertainty in the global economy, volatility in international financial markets and ongoing geopolitical tensions contributing to price fluctuations across energy markets. Despite this challenging external environment, the reaffirmation of SOCAR's investment-grade credit rating once again demonstrates the company's strong financial position, effective risk management and long-term growth potential.
Maintaining an investment-grade credit rating is an important factor in strengthening investor confidence in international capital markets, further developing cooperation with financial institutions and expanding the company's financing opportunities.
