August 5, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices advanced for a third consecutive session on Wednesday, buoyed by a softening US dollar and lower crude oil prices.
Spot gold rose 1.3% to $4,127.04 per ounce, while US gold futures increased 0.8% to trade at $4,184.40. The pullback in oil prices helped ease inflation worries, tempering aggressive central bank interest rate expectations.
Performance across other precious metals:
Silver: Up 1.9% to $60.64 per ounce;
Platinum: Gained 1.4% to $1,758.35 per ounce (highest since mid-June);
Palladium: Advanced 0.9% to $1,365.62 per ounce.
Investors are now turning their focus to upcoming US employment data (ADP and Non-Farm Payrolls) for clues on the Federal Reserve's policy path at its September meeting.
