August 4, Fineko/abc.az. American financial services giant Visa has announced the conclusion of a definitive agreement to acquire the Israeli provider of anti-fraud solutions, BioCatch, for $2.4 bn in cash.
According to company's statement, the deal provides for the purchase of shares from funds managed by Permira and other shareholders. The transaction is to be completed by the end of the 2nd quarter of fiscal year 2027.
Key details of the deal:
* AI-based technologies: The acquisition will expand Visa's capabilities to prevent cybercrimes and financial fraud at all stages - from account opening to transaction processing.
* Customer Protection: The deal will help protect customers from threats such as account hijacking, fake applications, and the use of fake accounts to withdraw funds.
* Investment in security: Over the past 5 years, Visa has invested over $13 bn in technology and infrastructure to enhance the security of the payment ecosystem.
