June 16, Fineko/abc.az. In the first quarter of 2026, the volume of money transfers (money barats) received in Azerbaijan from abroad amounted to $296.9 million.
ABC.AZ reports that Samir Nasirov, the Director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, said this during a briefing on the publication of the balance of payments for Q1. According to the regulator's representative, compared with Q1 of 2025, revenue increased by $67.4 million, or 29.4%.
Geographical structure of transfers:
The leading role of the Russian Federation: The main part of money transfers was formed at the expense of Russia - $110.8 million (37.3% of the total volume).
Top 5 of sending countries: Turkey holds the 2nd place with a share of 16.8% ($49.909 million), followed by Ireland - 8.3% ($24.6 million), the USA - 8.1% ($23.911 million) and the UK - $10.55 million.
Other areas: Significant amounts of funds also came from Georgia ($10,323 million) and the UAE ($9.894 million).
