June 13, Fineko/abc.az. The Turkish Ministry of Trade has issued an urgent public warning against unverified real estate and vehicle advertisements spreading across social media applications, aiming to curb digital deposit fraud and speculative pricing.
According to ABC.AZ, navigating the regulatory enforcement statement, the Ministry has imposed a 5 million Turkish Lira (approximately 145,000 USD) administrative fine on Meta Platforms (operating Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp) for failing to comply with the Electronic Listing Verification System (EİDS) protocols.
The upgraded regulatory mandate dictates that identity and authorization clearing are now strictly mandatory for all property and automobile listings online. The Ministry stressed that real estate agencies and auto galleries must only share links of fully EİDS-verified advertisements on social networks to avoid facing penal sanctions, while citizens are strongly urged to ignore unauthenticated market listings.
