Azerbaijan's Exports to Kazakhstan Up by Over 21%, While Imports Drop Sharp

June 13, Fineko/abc.az. The State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan has released bilateral trade turnover figures between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan for the January-April period of 2026.

According to ABC.AZ, navigating the macroeconomic trade data:

  • Export Expansion: During the reporting period, Azerbaijan’s cargo and goods exports to Kazakhstan amounted to $42,314.17 thousand. This marks a 21.5% increase (up by $7,497.25 thousand) year-on-year. These shipments accounted for 0.36% of Azerbaijan's total outbound export share.

  • Import Contraction: Azerbaijan imported goods from Kazakhstan valued at $71,860.6 thousand, registering a significant 3.2-fold decrease (down by $159,007.1 thousand) compared to the same period last year. Inbound trade from Kazakhstan constituted 1.3% of Azerbaijan's total gross import portfolio.
