June 6, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's agricultural segment within the non-oil sector has recorded a sharp growth momentum. In April of this year, the country exported strawberries worth USD 11.1 million to foreign markets.
ABC.AZ reports, citing the official bulletin of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, that the value of strawberry exports during the month increased fivefold compared to April of last year. For comparison, strawberry exports stood at USD 2.2 million during the same period last year.
General Trends in Non-Oil Exports: This surge in strawberry shipments aligns with the broader expansion of the country's non-oil export portfolio. During the first four months (January–April) of the current year, Azerbaijan’s total non-oil exports grew by 13% year-on-year compared to 2025, reaching USD 1.1 billion.
Market experts attribute this substantial boost in strawberry exports to improved logistics infrastructure, target government subsidies for the agricultural sector, and strengthening demand for Azerbaijani fresh produce across regional trade hubs.
