Bending Spoons buys spreadsheet service Airtable for $1.28 bn

August 5, Fineko/abc.az. Italian technology company Bending Spoons, which went public last month with valuation of $18 bn, has agreed to buy spreadsheet and database startup Airtable for $1.28 bn in cash. This is company's first major deal since the IPO.

Founded in 2013, Airtable, whose valuation exceeded $11 bn at its peak in 2021, increased its annual recurring revenue (ARR) by 20% up to $480 million as of

June 2026. During its existence, the startup has attracted more than $1.4 bn in investments.
Bending Spoons has previously acquired such well-known brands as Evernote, WeTransfer, Eventbrite and Vimeo. The Italian giant is known for its strategy of buying a company at a discount, followed by cost optimization, simplification of products and bringing them to profitability.
