June 9, Fineko/abc.az. Americans are showing growing pessimism about their financial situation and the labor market.
ABC.AZ informs that this is evidenced by a survey by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
In May, the share of those who assess their financial condition as having deteriorated reached its highest level since January 2023, and the number of pending improvements continues to decline for the fifth month in a row.
Meanwhile, the average perceived probability of Americans losing their jobs next year rose to 15.1%, reaching a six-month high. While the average perceived probability of employment within three months of losing a job dropped to 43.7%, which is a five-month low.
Expectations for inflation remain at 3.5%.
