June 9, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has savings portfolio of 334 million manats on loans attracted from abroad.

ABC.AZ reports that Finance Minister Sahil Babayev made this statement during the discussion of the Bill on State Budget 2025 at today's meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.

"Our savings on capital expenditures mainly relate to this. It is linked with the fact that projects implemented jointly with international financial institutions, due to their procedural requirements, require more time than projects funded from the State Budget. Therefore, we always set a higher indicator for this article with a cautious margin.

During the year, approx. 1 billion manats were allocated in this area, so that if these funds were raised, they could be used. At the same time, we have certain reserves for other current expenses.

As for servicing the public debt, savings of 300 million manats have been generated here. This became possible due to the restructuring of expensive borrowings and the revision of the monthly allocation of government budget and Treasury borrowings. In particular, borrowing has been shifted to periods with greater demand. In addition, due to the investment of available funds in deposits, additional income was received, as a result of which part of the borrowings was postponed," he said.
