China increases aluminum exports amid global commodity imbalance

June 9, Fineko/abc.az. In May, China increased aluminum exports by 16% to 630,000 tons, helping offset a global shortage caused by supply disruptions from the Middle East.

ABC.AZ reports that at the same time, oil imports plummeted to an eight-year low due to a reduction in supplies from the Persian Gulf. Exports of petroleum products, coal, fertilizers, and steel also declined amid weak demand and logistical constraints.

At the same time, copper imports increased, while shipments of iron ore and soybeans showed less dramatic declines due to a partial recovery in trade with the U.S.
